I think this video does a good job of showing the core values of Facebook, and it seems that they are a bit different then most major corporations. These employees go into work everyday with the idea to think out side of the box, they are not following any predetermined path or concept. Zuckerberg discusses the fact that the company, although massive, is actually fairly new and that it is a long ways away from being fully developed. I think one of the reasons facebook is so successful is because they have no final goal, they are setting out to revolutionize the way people interact world wide, not only on their computers at home but with their mobile devices as well. No one else has done that, therefore there are no rules for them to abide by or protocols to meet along the way. I also think the fact that all the employees, regardless of where they work within the company, are given the freedom to think big and try to make their individual ideas come to life within the website leads to a large amount of success that would have otherwise been non-existent or would not be able to have been accomplished for quite some time. Zach, great video. It's a great environment to work in for sure. The thing i found interesting was that what they were saying in the video related EXACTLY to the video I posted. Mark, and the other people speaking were telling you what they believed facebook was and could be. The people that work for them BELIEVE in this same vision and goal. They see social connections and experiences. I loved what that guy said at the end about making every device feel like there are people around. That was really awesome to hear. We worry about human social interaction in this day and age and we wonder if kids growing up will be okay. Facebook, allows people to interact on a more social level when used the right way. I find out things about people I know, and they find out about me. They are just like apple. Mark BELIEVES in his cause and this social environment he has created. He BELIEVES in making people connected around the world and sees what it can bring. HE is a "Great Leader who inspires Action."
ReplyDeleteThis is a great video, and it shows how Facebook has changed they way chief officers think. Whether they are the CTO or COO or even the CEO they want you to take on tasks that will help the company succeed. Mark Zuckerberg said "you can work on huge problems or you can come up with your own problems and work on that". This just shows Facebook wants their employees to be creative and use the skills they have to make the company better.
ReplyDeleteThis video brings me back to the first time that I saw the movie 'Social Network' that is based on Facebook. For Facebook to be successful it can never stop growing and never stop evolving into something better and better. Mark Zuckerberg brings that mindset to the work place and it keeps employees motivated because their work it truely never done.
