Google uses a very unique way of motivating their employees. They are not as laid back as a Zappos or a Facebook but they are no-where near as "old-fashined" in regarding their business style. They use items such as gifts and perks to keep the employees motivated. Google offers free organic food, laudry machine, a gym, volleyball court, bike repairs, on-site doctors. They have even gone as far as giving employees free haircuts. I feel they use this to keep employes with the company even if they are having problems or going through hardtimes the worker still knows that Google still has their back. Google even offers workers with new babies the possibility to charge up to $500 on take-out for their new family. Using this unique form of motivation is why employees stay with Google for a long time.

This is a really cool way of doing things. I like that they take care of their employees in multiple fashions. The most interesting thing to me is that they are offering free services in order to keep employees happy. This is a great motivation tool and would absolutely keep me coming to work every day!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with Zach, that this is a really cool way of doing things. I know when I am having a bad day and I can get a workout in, it puts me in a better mood and helps motivate me get things I need to do done in the day. When at work being able to take care of your self and clearing your mind it helps to be more productive.
